ABOUT THE JOB:

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
• 10-20 years experience of construction cost estimating (transportation - rail, airport, tunnel projects)
• Development of estimates in all CSI divisions
• All levels of detail from conceptual to full plans/specifications estimates
• Representation of estimates at team meetings. Value Engineering team experience a plus
• Proven experience estimating large public infrastructure projects is required
• Previous transportation (rail) experience is preferred
• HCSS, MC², Excel, Microsoft Office, and Primavera computer software skills are required

Job Description

Basic Function:

Effectively develop and manage bid estimates for various construction and material handling projects.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.

• Study requests for proposals (RFPs), plans, specifications and other related documents. Attend pre-bid meetings, prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment and time utilization requirements.

• Expertise with site/civil estimating for mass excavations, embankments, hauling and placement of transported materials. Industrial applications are helpful but not required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential skills for this position.
